Christmas Decorations
A feature of the north country is that the Christmas decorations is the order of the day not only in homes but in public places. Christmas trees, garlands and decorated floats fill the streets, plazas and stores throughout December.
Christmas Lights
Another detail of Christmas in America is that all tend to decorate their houses with elaborately decorated exterior lights that make splendid colors and lighting designs forming shapes such as trees and Santas.
A family tradition is to go around the neighborhood with the children to admire the scenery of lights from nearby houses.
Swedish Fishing Holidays
When it comes to fishing, there can surely be fewer more tempting destinations in the world than Sweden. The variety of fishing experiences is pretty incredible by any standards, and this has as much to do with the contrast between the seasons here, as well as the range of different landscapes. This diverse environment has resulted in many different species of fish being found within the Swedish borders.
Fishing holidays in Sweden will be very different experiences depending on the time of year. Many people like the summer months, when the north of the country can behold the wonder of the midnight sun and the whole country can enjoy the benefit of long evenings and early mornings, with plenty of clear blue lakes and running rivers among the forests, ideal for finding a variety of different fish. Personally, though, I like Sweden in the winter, when the snow is on the ground and the seasonal darkness creates a very special atmosphere. It may be cold, but these are the temperatures at which lakes freeze, and in the right conditions this brings the opportunity for the almost unique experience of fishing through a hole in the ice. For those who like to slap their catch onto a campfire grill when they get back to base, the satisfaction to be had from winter fishing can be unbeatable.
With river fishing, lake fishing, and sea fishing, as well as covering carp, pike, trout, and roach, fly fishing, float fishing, reef fishing, and angling, there is fishing in Sweden to suit almost any fishing fan.
