Mexico City Ready To Issue Of American International Tourism Exhibition
Mexico City is ready for the second edition of International Tourism Fair of the Americas (FITA) 2011, which will take place from 22 to 25 September, the capital’s Tourism Minister, and Alejandro Rojas Diaz Duran.
According to the official 2011 is intended to bring together entrepreneurs FITA and Mexican tourism officials and nations of Europe, Middle East, Asia, the Caribbean and America.
Rojas reported that participation is estimated more than five thousand exhibitors from more than 55 countries and 30 destinations, as well as representatives of some 800 companies such as hotels, airlines, restaurants, travel agencies, food and beverage suppliers, trusts promotion and bus lines, among others.
This meeting is expected to generate for the city of Mexico an economic impact of approximately $ 10 million. While it attempts to overcome the 25 000 registered business meetings in the first edition.
The objectives of the fair, according to the secretary, is encouraging the promotion and marketing of tourism products and destinations, besides being an opportunity to make new contacts, meet market developments and promote and conduct business.
He further commented that seeks to leverage the projection of the World Tourism Organization (WTO) that the tourism market wills nearly double its size: by 2020 about one thousand 560 million people who travel around the world and leave an economic impact of two billion of dollars.
He also mentioned that the Federal District is the main destination country, and the second in Latin America, receiving 12 million tourists a year and is the point from which to move air more than 32 million passengers and Mexican foreign.
